TOPSFIELD, MA — A 52-year-old Massachusetts man is dead after suffering a medical emergency while hiking in New Hampshire Tuesday afternoon, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game.
The incident was reported between the summits of North and South Peaks on the Kinsman Ridge Trail at 2:14 p.m, officials said.
"The Kinsmans are located approximately 4 miles from the nearest trailhead, which makes quick rescue response difficult," according to New Hampshire Fish and Game, which added that "due to the severity of the emergency, the New Hampshire Army National Guard was called to see if they could assist in the rescue efforts."
