New Hampshire Man Shot And Killed In Waterbury Vermont Trailer Park

WATERBURY, VT - Two people were shot in Waterbury, Vermont, Monday, including a man from New Hampshire who died; the other victim survived.

Shawn Spiker, 34, from Croydon, NH, died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to Vermont State Police. The autopsy performed at the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington classified the manner of death as homicide.

The surviving victim was identified as Michael Perry, 36, of Barre City, VT. State police say that his condition had remained stable as of Tuesday afternoon at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.

Perry was transported to University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington with what was described as critical injuries, Spiker died at the scene.

The investigation began at about 12:45 a.m. Monday when the state police received a call reporting a shooting at a home in the Kneeland Flats Trailer Park. Responding troopers located the victims on the scene.

State Police say preliminary investigation by detectives indicates this shooting is an isolated, targeted event. No one is currently in custody at this time.

This investigation involves members of the Vermont State Police Major Crime Unit, Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Crime Scene Search Team, Field Force Division, and Victim Services Unit.

Investigators have completed processing of the crime scene and continue to speak with relevant parties to this incident and area residents.
