North Country Chamber Players Reach Youth Of Northern NH
In October, a woodwind quintet visited eight schools.

The North Country Chamber Players is a non-profit organization of world-class musicians who perform throughout the summer and periodically through fall and winter.
Not many know the extent to which these exemplary musicians are reaching the youth of the North Country. After all, their mission is to culturally enrich the communities of Northern New Hampshire and the surrounding areas through high-quality performances of the chamber music repertoire and creative, interactive educational and community outreach programs.

In October, a woodwind quintet visited eight schools. Programs varied from all school assemblies in Bethlehem, Errol, Franconia, Pittsburg, and Stewartstown to intensive Band Program Performances in Littleton and Profile School. However, at Lisbon School the Players elevated the format working closely with Music Teacher Shoshana Lieberman to craft a customized format. Susan Nidel, flutist and Cynde Iverson, bassoonist provided small workshops with students. Kemp Jernigan, oboist, Kelli O’Connor, clarinetist and Bernhard Scully, horn player, provided master class feedback to several students.
According to Sam Natti, Principal of Lisbon School, “we appreciate the opportunity for our students to get to know these fabulous musicians and learn that these professionals started playing an instrument in a band program just like ours and chose a career in music.”

During the summer months, the Players offer free lessons in instruments which they play. The North Country Chamber Players also has a summer intern program for youth interested in learning hands-on about the production of a music festival.
Children and families are welcome at all concerts of the North Country Chamber Players. November 16 and November 17 performances will take place at Omni Mountain Washington, Bretton Woods and Mountain View Grand Resort, Whitefield, both at 2pm.
