Amherst Business Needs Your Votes for National Contest
HandicappedPets.com is in the running for a Wal-Mart "Get on the Shelf" competition for its Walkin' Wheels dog wheelchair.

Amherst-based HandicappedPets.com is in the running for a Walmart "Get on the Shelf" competition, but needs your support to see its Walkin' Wheels dog wheelchair win.
You may remember this great invention from the story about Crispy Bacon, a handicapped pig, which got national attention. Since then, the company has expanded and moved operations from Nashua to a bigger warehouse in Amherst.
"Get on the Shelf" is a social, crowd-sourcing competition developed by Walmart Labs that gives entrepreneurs a chance to get noticed and sell their products on Walmart.com and potentially in select Walmart stores.
During the first round of competition, the public can cast their votes daily for the Walkin' Wheels dog wheelchair here. Informed by the first round of voting from Aug. 6, through Sept. 2, Walmart merchants will select up to 20 product finalists that will be featured in an original web series.
With the voting support of pet caretakers from around the world who rely on HandicappedPets.com for products, service and support for their elderly, disabled and injured pets, the company hopes to advance into the next round of the competition.
As the pet industry's only fully adjustable dog wheelchair that is ideal for both long term and rehabilitative use, storage friendly, and easily transportable, the Walkin' Wheels dog wheelchair would be the ideal product addition for Walmart shelves.
