Amherst Tree Lighting Right Around the Corner

Morning news and notes for Nov. 27.

Amherst Tree Lighting weekend. Just around the corner from Thanksgiving is the annual Amherst Tree Lighting weekend chock full of events in the Village and beyond. We'll have more details in about the event in the coming days, but check out a weekend schedule here and mark your calendar for Dec. 6-8.

Black Friday.
Looking for Black Friday deals? We've got some of the big name stores best deals posted right here. If you're planning to hit the stores early, we wish you patience and luck. If you aren't going after doorbuster sales, and can plan to go a little later in the day, the crowds have often died down. Have fun!

Small Business Saturday. The day after Black Friday there is a growing movement called Small Business Saturday that encourages shopping locally at your small in-town merchants. Get some of your Christmas shopping done right here in town and keep the money in the community or surrounding communities! Looking for participating merchants? Visit the Small Business Saturday website and search the zip code of where you plan to shop.

Holiday Stroll. Looking for a fun way to spend Saturday evening? Head into Nashua for the annual Holiday Stroll and Christmas tree lighting. Shop in downtown stores at special discounts, hit up local restaurants and enjoy the festive atmosphere as you walk around Main Street, which is blocked off to traffic for the duration of the event. Enjoy music, meet Santa, participate in a scavenger hunt and much more. The stroll runs from 5-10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30.
