Asian Restaurant Gets Green Light for Outdoor Patio

The New Hampshire Liquor Commission has approved an outdoor patio dining area for the Chiang Mai Thai restaurant in Amherst.

This spring Chiang Mai Thai patrons in Amherst will be able to enjoy the Route 101A restaurant's Asian fare with their favorite alcoholic beverage on a new outdoor patio.

Jim Wilson, director of the New Hampshire Liquor Commission's Bureau of Enforcement, said Friday morning the commission approved the restaurant's request at its Wednesday meeting.

According to the agenda posted on the state agency's web site, the Chiang Mai Thai restaurant on Route 101A wants to create an outdoor patio with seating for 20 people.

According to the restaurant's request, the owners also want to have their liquor license extended to the proposed outdoor patio area so they can serve beer, wine and other alcoholic beverages.

The restaurant owners hope to have the new outdoor patio dining area ready by Memorial Day weekend.
