Cemetery Fields Education Forum Tonight
The town Transfer Station will continue to accept Christmas trees for free; bitter cold weather will stick around for one more day.

Bitter cold sticks around: Amherst residents will have to endure one more day of freezing cold temperatures from a deep arctic freeze that arrived in New Hampshire Tuesday before temperatures moderate later this week.
Need to get rid of your Christmas tree: The town's Transfer Station will continue to accept Christmas trees in the brush pile free of charge for residents who need a place to dispose of their trees.
Cemetery Fields forum tonight: The Friends of Cemetery Fields Committee will hold an educational forum about different options the town can pursue regarding 47.5 acres of land known as Cemetery Fields at the Souhegan High School Auditorium on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Planning Board, Heritage Commission to meet: The Planning Board is scheduled to meet on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Souhegan High School and the Heritage Commission is also scheduled to meet on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Town Offices. The agendas for these meetings can be viewed on the town's web site.
Winter Carnival set: The Amherst Board of Selectmen recently voted to hold the town's Winter Carnival on Sunday, Feb. 9 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Middle Road.
