Monday Essentials: Registration Day is Today for Students

News you need to know for this, the last week of August

Back to school prep. Registration day for all schools in the SAU #39 district will take place today, Monday, Aug. 26 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., in their respective buildings. All students (with a parent) need to come to the high school for approximately 1/2 hour to register for the new school year. Parents will be asked to update important enrollment and medical/emergency information so that students may report on the first day of school. Parents/students will be able to purchase the following with one check: parking permit (juniors and seniors), locker assignment/lock (freshmen and sophomores), activity sticker for prepaid entry into athletic events, and PTSA membership. Incoming seniors may also pay their student dues.

Selectmen's meeting. The Amherst Selectmen will meet tonight, Monday, Aug. 26, in the Souhegan Media Center, 412 Boston Post Road. The media center is the temporary home for town-related meetings while roof repairs are conducted at the Town Hall. On the agenda is an update on the storm water coalition and a review of the end of the 2013 fiscal year budget. Get the full agenda on the Amherst town website.

First day of school. The first day of school for SAU 39 students is Wednesday, Aug. 28. We at Patch wish the students, faculty and staff a wonderful day to kick off a great school year.

Fresh food. The Amherst Farmer's Market will return again on Thursday from 3-6 p.m. on the Village Green. See what they have to offer each week.
