Get Your 2014 Hunting and Fishing License

Morning news and notes for Dec. 19 in Amherst.

Holiday crafts. The kids are home for more than two weeks as of this Friday. Why not keep them busy with some fun homemade holiday crafts. Check out some ideas here.

Show us your Elf on the Shelf. The elves that come out of hiding between Thanksgiving and Christmas have returned to the homes of young children to keep an eye on their behavior during the holiday season, ready to report back to Santa any naughty behavior. Last year we compiled a fun galleryof the different places Merrimack elves got tangled up in during the month, and we want to see your photos again! Post your Elf on the Shelf photos to our Holidays in Amherst Board. You can even do this right from your phone. Download our Patch iPhone app (it's a great way to keep up with Patch on the go). Find Amherst Patch and then choose "Post a Photo." Upload your photo and caption, choose the Holidays in Amherst Board and click post. Questions? E-mail Carolyn.Dube@patch.com.
