Happy first day of school. We'd like to wish the students, faculty and staff in SAU 39 a fabulous first day of school today and best wishes for a knowledge-filled school year. To the moms and dads at home who have a little free time after a summer full of busy days, take some time for yourself today. Pour an extra cup of coffee or tea and relax a little. After all, the homework starts tonight.
Weather watch. Wondering what to wear for the first day of school? Today's forecast calls for scattered showers with thunderstorms also possible after noon, otherwise, mostly sunny with a high near 84. Tonight, isolated showers. Patchy fog after 5 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 61.
Google gaffe. Last week we told you Google had named Amherst the digital capital of New Hampshire. However, it appears that Google may need someone to do a little fact checking for them. On a page congratulating Amherst, (see picture above) it lists the town as the birthplace of writer Emily Dickinson. Dickinson, however, was born in Amherst, Mass. Whoops.
