Say 'Hello' to Amherst's Newest Police Officers
Officers Joseph Cerra and Kevin Kelly are the newest addition to the police department.

The month of April has seen two new additions to the Amherst Police force.
Joseph Cerra, a long time Amherst resident, was hired as a full-time police officer in December of 2012, and was enrolled in the 160th NH Police Academy class which ran from January through April.

Officer Cerra graduated from the 14 week academy program on April 12th, and is now partnered with a Field Training Officer as he completes the final stages of his training.
A second officer, Kevin Kelly, was hired on April 1st to fill the final remaining vacancy on the department’s roster.

Officer Kelly is a five year veteran and highly recommended former member of the Plymouth NH Police Department with ties to the local area.
Officer Kelly is a certified firearms instructor, and was himself a Field Training Officer for his former agency.
Both officers are talented and welcomed additions to the Amherst Police Department!
