Share, Sell, Buy, Trade. Connect With Your Neighbors on Patch

When we rolled out of the new Patch platform in July, we made it easier than ever to connect with your neighbors. 

Running down the right side of the page is one of our new features called "Boards." These boards are designed with you in mind. We've streamlined the posting process. Simply click the "Post" button, and fill out the headline field, the text field and choose the board you want. You have four choices: Speak Out, Announcements, Buy | Sell | Trade, and Business Updates. Punch up your post with a photo or a video by clicking the respective button and click "Post Now." (Each board also has its own dedicated page if you want to scroll through past posts with ease. Just hover over the boards drop down menu at the top of the page and choose the category you want to browse.)

That's it. You're done. Your post is live and will show up at the top of the boards on the homepage. Click on the post you just created and it will bring you to a page with the hyperlink to your post that you can use to share with your friends, family and followers on social media.

Here are some of the things you can do with boards:

Speak Out. This is a great space for you to share a random opinion about something in town, ask a question of your neighbors or upload a photo or video you snapped around town. Is there a pothole that's driving you crazy? Start a conversation with you neighbors about where the trouble spots are in town. Wondering where you can get the best burger in town? Pose the question and choose from the responses. Get talking now.

Announcements. Did your son make the Dean's List? Is your daughter getting married? Is your dog lost? Did you find a cat? Looking for sponsors for the fundraiser you're holding in a couple months? The announcements board is perfect for those situations where you have information to share about life in Merrimack.Post your first announcement now.

Buy | Sell | Trade. This board is where it's at. If you're looking to sell anything from furniture you want to clear out while downsizing, or tickets to a play that you bought months ago and recently discovered you can no longer attend, post it on this board. Trying to rent an apartment, or sell a house? Post the details and some photos. Maybe you are a photographer who needs a cake for a party. Use the board to try to strike up some sort of barter of services, she'll make the cake and you'll shoot photos of her work for her website. The options are endless for how you can use the board to buy, sell and trade.

Business Updates. Share your new hire information, news of the award your business just won, details about an upcoming fundraiser your restaurant is hosting. Are you enrolling students for the fall? Hiring? Post your business updates to this board and keep Merrimack connected with the local business community.  Share your news now.
