Something for EVERYBODY at The Amherst PTA World's Fair!
There will be something for everyone at this fun family event coming Sunday, May 5.

Your Amherst PTA is going all out to create a fun community event that shows the best of what our area has to offer.
The First Annual Amherst PTA World’s Fair will be bringing a new, unique experience to Amherst Middle School on Sunday, May 5 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

There will be an incredibly wide range of activities separated by cultural theme for both children and adults. For example, The Meat House will feature outstanding culinary options in their American Pavilion, while the Homestead Grocery & Deli serves up Italian delights at the Venetian Carnival.
And that is just a taste of the food options available at this multicultural fair. Chiang Mai Thai Restaurant will bring the taste of Thailand to our Asian Corridor, treats will be available from the Gone Baking mobile bakery and Amherst PTA will even quench your thirst for fun with mocktail margaritas at their Cinco de Mayo Celebration.

The afternoon will offer plenty of culinary options to choose from, but that is not all. The Amherst PTA has also organized a long list of activities and performances to keep the fun going.
“We literally have something for everyone,” said Amherst PTA member Terri Behm, who is organizing the event. “This is for the kids and the young at heart.”
Performers from the PTA play “Meet Me in St. Louis” will provide entertainment alongside local dance studios, karate exhibitions, folk singers and more. Visitors can also get their faces painted, let loose in their bounce house, go crazy in the Silly String Corral or marvel at the huge model train display.
It will also be a perfect time to create perfect Mother’s Day gifts with planter decorating available in their Japanese garden, along with other fun crafts to make.
Behm said the fair is also a perfect opportunity for parents to gather information on summer programs, local organizations, farms and other useful resources.
A full list of vendors, entertainment and participants can be found on the Amherst PTA website.
The fair was inspired the Amherst PTA’s 61st Annual Play, “Meet Me In St. Louis,” which will play May 9 – 12 Souhegan High School. The play takes place at a world’s fair, making their own fundraiser a compliment to the show.
Tickets will be sold for the fair’s attractions, but there are plenty of free things to do during the afternoon. There is no entrance fee, and activities will cost no more than two dollars each.
“You can come and not spend a dime and still have a great time,” said Behm.
Ticket sold at the fair are 75 cents each, ten for $5 or twenty-five for $10. Amherst teachers who show their school ID will receive free activity tickets to kick off their fun.
Behm is excited to start a new event in Amherst that can turn into a yearly tradition. Funds raised from the fair will go towards supporting extra school curriculum and projects, all while showcasing some of the best things the community has to offer.
“We wanted to keep a local focus and give an Amherst family everything they need to know to make their lives easier.”
