Souhegan Baseball Defeats Lebanon 8 to 3

The Souhegan Sabers baseball team hosted the Lebanon Raiders in the Souhegan home opener and the Sabers came away with a come from behind 8 to 3 victory.

Sophomore right handed pitcher Seth Learned pitched seven strong innings for Souhegan.  He allowed five hits. no earned runs, struck out four and NO walks.

The Souhegan defense was lead by an outstanding double play in the fourth inning.  With no outs and runs on first and third, the Raiders number four hitter flied out to right field ... after Chandler MacKenzie made the catch, he threw a strike from right field to catcher Cameron Crook who waited at the plate for the ball as the runner approached home ... Cameron made the catch of the excellent throw and made a diving tag of the Lebanon runner to complete the double play. 

The Souhegan bats struck quickly in the bottom of the first ... after Seth Learned and Michel Ehrenstein each walked, Andrew MacDonald doubled to the center field fence plating both runners. 

After the Raiders took the lead in the fifth, the Sabers came right back and scored four in the bottom of the fifth.  Tyrell Torres walked, stole second and scored on a Seth Learned single ... Michel Ehrenstein reached on an infield error and Andrew MacDonald sacrifice fly scored a run ... Cameron Crook's rbi double and Connor Cinque's third double of the day put Souhegan up 6 to 3. 

In the sixth, the Sabers scored a pair of insurance runs.  Tyrell Torres singed and stole second.  Seth Learned walked ... Michel Ehrenstein reached on a fielder's choice ... stole second and Andrew MacDonald single drove in two runs.  Andrew MacDonald finished the contest with five rbi.
