Souhegan Joins Marathon Fundraiser For Sandy Hook Victims

21 teachers from Souhegan High School will join other runners at Gilford Elementary on Sunday.

Souhegan High School is joining other school communities today to honor of the lives lost during the tragic Sandy Hook shooting.

A total of 21 teachers will gather at Gilford Elementary as educators, schools, children, parents, as well as a community to show our support and heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy.

Whether as individuals or teams, you will be asked to complete 26 miles for each of the 26 victims. Each runner/walker will be asked to donate at least $1 per mile for each mile they complete.

All proceeds will go to the 26.4.26 Foundation. The foundation was created out of an idea that became an inspirational movement in the wake of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary on Dec 14, 2012. This will aid their efforts for the families of victims, memorials for teacher heroes and to increase safety in schools across the country.

The core mission of 26.4.26 is to develop, implement, and if needed, fund schools appropriately in order to begin pilot programs that involve athletics, activities, team building, and positive social interaction among our youth.
