2 Collisions, 3 DWIs Saturday Night

Bedford police responded to two accidents Saturday night.

The Bedford Police Department reports that two car accidents involved three driving while intoxicated charges. More on the DWIs, from BPD in a press release Aug. 11, 2013:

"During the late hours of 08/10/2013, the Bedford Police responded to two collision scenes that resulted in three arrests for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).

At 10:14 PM, Bedford Police responded to a motor vehicle complaint on Rte 101. The vehicle turned South onto Jenkins Rd, east onto Beals Rd and stopped in the middle of Wallace Rd at the Beals Rd intersection. As Officers were checking on the operator, a northbound vehicle stopped by the first suspect’s vehicle. Upon being approached by Officers, this vehicle accelerated, striking the first vehicle and fleeing the scene. The second vehicle was stopped in the area of 138 Wallace Rd. The operator of this second vehicle, Roy Kosky age 60, was subsequently arrested for DWI, Conduct After Accident, Disobeying an Officer and Transporting Alcoholic Beverages. Kosky was released on $2500 personal recognizance bail. The operator of the first vehicle, Denise Biddle age 57, was also arrested for DWI- Subsequent. Biddle was released on $1500 personal recognizance bail.

At 11:11 PM, Bedford Police responded to the roundabout on Donald St Ext for a report of a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle. While responding to the area, Officers were advised that the operator of the motorcycle fled towards Manchester, leaving his injured passenger at the roundabout. The motorcycle was located at the intersection of Donald St and Old Bedford Rd, where the operator had crashed again. The operator, Steven Winer age 33 and his 17 year old passenger were both transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Winer was subsequently arrested for DWI-Subsequent, Conduct After Accident and Protective Headgear-Motorcycle Rules. Winer was released on $2500personal recognizance bail.

All suspects are scheduled to appear at the Merrimack District Court on August 19, 2013."
