• Man accused of stockpiling bombmaking materials (unionleader.com) — Bedford residents should know that prosecutors say a Massachusetts man had large-capacity magazines shipped to his mother’s Bedford home, prompting an investigation that led to his arrest in Salem, Mass. Police later reported finding rifle parts and materials that could be used to make explosives at his apartment. He pleaded not guilty and remains free on high bail pending a January hearing. 
• As a new session approaches, here are the early childhood education bills in the pipeline (newsfromthestates.com) — Bedford residents may want to watch Senator Denise Ricciardi’s support for a new liability insurance risk pool that could ease costs for child care centers and foster homes. Lawmakers are also weighing grants, tax credits, zoning changes, and expanded scholarships to grow child care access statewide. These proposals could affect local providers, employers, and families over the next few years.
