5 Fun Things to Do In NH This Weekend

Have a great summer weekend in New Hampshire.

1. Get high ... up! The Hillsborough Balloon Festival will be rocking New Boston this Friday from 5-11 p.m. The Saturday night fireworks extravaganza is one of the premier fireworks displays in all of New Hampshire, but the real draw is the balloons! Hot Air Balloons are piloted and crewed by regional balloon enthusiasts. Balloon flights over New Hampshire's beautiful Monadnock Region are available to the general public along with tethered flights for the more cautious.

2. Master the web! Feeling left out while business colleagues or competitors Tweet their way to success? Wondering how Facebook can help boost your organization with the click of a mouse? The Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications is presenting a day-long workshop from 9 a.m. until noon to explore using Social Media as a tool for businesses or organizations. Social Media For Business will be held on July 20. It is designed as a crash course concentrating on advanced techniques used to make Social Media a business tool. It features experienced presenters who use networks such as Facebook and Twitter to support their business, not just keep up with friends.

3. Local Celebration! The 37th Annual Market Days and Music Festival began in Downtown Concord at 9 a.m. today and runs through 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 16. This downtown destination event has  food vendors, kiddie rides, musical entertainment, and outdoor shopping. Concord NH Patch Editor Tony Schinella will also be there, so make sure to say "hi!"

4. Dr. Seuss Time! Seussical Jr. is hitting the Capitol Center for the Art in Concord Friday night at 7 p.m. In this fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza, Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big  imagination--Jojo. “Oh, the Thinks You Can Think” captures the show’s spirit of imagination, as the colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.

5. Downtown tunes! The Downtown Music Festival (DMF) is continuing to bring the good times to Downtown Nashua. This Saturday is 90's Night, with afternoon performances by local bands. Ticketed event begins at 5 p.m. featuring Pinch & Backseat Lover, the premier Pearl Jam tribute band of New England.
