• Public schools to seek open enrollment status (unionleader.com) — Bedford school officials are preparing a March warrant article that would let some out-of-district students attend Bedford High School’s International Baccalaureate program under new state open-enrollment rules. Local leaders are weighing how many nonresident students to accept, how to protect current Bedford students, and how to explain the financial and enrollment stakes to voters before town elections. 
• Bedford boys turn up the heat to take QCIBT crown from Memorial (unionleader.com) — Bedford High’s boys basketball team captured the Queen City Invitational title Monday night, using stifling defense to pull away from Manchester Memorial, 61-43. The Bulldogs, defending Division I state champions, closed on an 18-6 run, highlighted by Ryan O’Rourke’s double-double and strong rebounding that helped secure their second QCIBT crown in three seasons.
