5 Things: All Things Snow

Winter weather making roadways slippery,

1. Let it snow. According to Weather.com, today's forecast calls for a total snow accumulation of 12- to 18-inches, changing to a wintry mix.

2. Everett Accident. An early-evening traffic accident snarled traffic on the Everett Turnpike between Exit 12 in Merrimack and Exit 13 in Bedford Wednesday night. Nashua Patch Editor Carol Robidoux shared the attached video as she passed by the crash.

3. Storm Closures and Cancellations. There's no school today, as Bedford students are off for holiday break through Jan. 1, but feel free to check and post any businesses, community activities, classes or religious services that will be closed or cancelled today due to the snow storm? Post 'em here.

4. Winter parking ban. Don't forget, through April 1, Bedford has a parking ban on all public highways between midnight and 8 a.m., and at any other time that a motor vehicle may impede snow removal operations. Any person violating the parking ban is subject to a penalty not to exceed $50 for each offense, and any vehicle parked in violation may be authorized to be towed by the Bedford Director of Public Works or by assigned agents and/or independent contractors engaged by the Director of Public Works or Chief of Police. Any vehicles towed will be stored and released to the owner only upon payment of the cost of towing as established by the Town Council.
