5 Things: Happy New Year's Weekend
Here's what's good in Bedford heading into another long holiday weekend.

1. The sun will come out ... today! According to Weather.com, today's forecast calls for a sunny day with a high of 34 degrees and a 10-percent chance of precipitation.
2. Be safe, Bedford! Local and state police have been out in force throughout the holidays. Yesterday, we reported that NH State Troopers have responded to two fatal accidents and made 58 DWI arrests the last two weekends. If you've had too much to drink, call a cab or call a friend, but please, don't get behind the wheel.
3. Send us your snow photos! We know you have 'em. Share your best shots of the new snowman in your front yard, the kids using their sleds or any other snow-related photos you may have taken during or after yesterday's storm by posting them here.

4. Winter parking ban. Don't forget, through April 1, Bedford has a parking ban on all public highways between midnight and 8 a.m., and at any other time that a motor vehicle may impede snow removal operations. Any person violating the parking ban is subject to a penalty not to exceed $50 for each offense, and any vehicle parked in violation may be authorized to be towed by the Bedford Director of Public Works or by assigned agents and/or independent contractors engaged by the Director of Public Works or Chief of Police. Any vehicles towed will be stored and released to the owner only upon payment of the cost of towing as established by the Town Council.
