5 Things: Help Bedford Patch win a Facebook Race!

Here's what's good, fun, exciting (and maybe even a bit boring) in Bedford today.

1. It's a race! With some crazy election results and a lot of attention directed toward Windham Patch for information, the Windham Patch Facebook page surged to 894 Facebook 'Likes' this week. Bedford Patch picked up 24 Facebook followers in the last 48 hours to get to 820, but I'll need your help to catch up to Windham Patch Editor Michael Ryan before he hits 1,000. After all, on the line, thanks to our friendly wager, is dinner and drinks at River Road Tavern or the Common Man. Click here to 'like' Bedford Patch on Facebook, and thank you for your help!

2. The weatherman says ... temperatures are expected to dip a bit, but still stay above 40. According to Weather.com, today's forecasted high is 42 degrees with mostly cloudy skies and a 10-percent chance of precipitation.

3. On this day ... March 14, 1879, Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, Germany. The son of a Jewish electrical engineer, Einstein's theories of special and general relativity drastically altered man's view of the universe, and his work in particle and energy theory helped make possible quantum mechanics and, ultimately, the atomic bomb.
