5 Things: Justin Bieber, Santa Claus and Coats for a Cause

Lots of holiday cheer being spread in and around Bedford today.

1. Macy's and the Make-A-Wish Foundation get Bieber Fever. Today, Make-A-Wish of New Hampshire is granting a wish for Ashley, 18, of Londonderry, and is celebrating her wish with a shopping trip at Macy’s in Manchester at 3:30 p.m. Ashley is leaving on her trip to meet Justin Beiber in Little Rock, AR from Jan. 8-11. Justin Bieber’s music brings her great joy, as she sings along and smiles while listening to him. Noise and music helps her with her seizure disorder, in turn Justin Bieber’s music has become therapeutic to her.  She is in a wheel chair and non-verbal, but her best friend Jennifer, who is also the daughter of her home care nurse, has grown up with her and will be traveling with her on this trip…along with her mother and nurse. Also at 3:30 at Macy's in Bedford, the kids from the Boys & Girls Club will be escorted by police to mail their letters to Santa.

2. Three cheers for coffee! CQ Coffee Roasters of Bedford is hosting tastings at The Meat House on Friday, Dec. 14, from 3-5 p.m. and at Bedford Fields Garden Center on Saturday, Dec. 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

3. Final day for holiday coat drive. Riddle Brook School on New Boston Road is sponsoring a coat drive. Items collected will be donated to local shelters. The drive runs through Friday, Dec. 14. Items to be collected include: clean hats, mittens, gloves, scarves and coats for men, women, children and infants.  Boxes are located in the RBS library hallway.
