5 Things: The Ice Bar Cometh!
Among items you should know today, an exciting local event returns and a big Bedford Patch shout out to those who donated to Bedford Boy Scouts last weekend.
1. It's time, it's time, it's ice bar time! The most wonderful time of the year may have just passed, but that was 2012. This is 2013 and the Bedford Village Inn is prepared to bring more joy to town when it hosts its third-annual Svedka Ice Bar, which is scheduled to be open nightly, from 5:30-10 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29 through Saturday, Feb. 2. Enjoy carefully crafted ice sculptures, live music, great company, hot food and cool drinks at this once-a-year event. 2. Tree topper! Bedford residents helped Bedford Boy Scout Troop #388 raise more than $3,000 last Saturday when the troop traveled Bedford to collect and dispose of Christmas trees. Well done, Bedford!
3. The weatherman says ... Today's forecast, obtained through Weather.com, calls for a sunny day with plenty of wind. The high temperature is forecasted at 42 degrees, though it'll likely be tough to feel with steady winds at 15-25 m.p.h. throughout the day.

4. On the Agenda. Today's BCTV Board Meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the BCTV Bedford Town Meeting Room, but the Water & Sewer Committee Meeting scheduled for 7:45 a.m., has been cancelled. BCTV Board Meeting is scheduled at 7 p.m. at the BCTV Bedford Town Meeting Room.
5. Planning ahead. The Bedford Planning Board meets Jan. 14, at which time business includes an application for phase 1 of a planned commercial development to clear, grade and stabilize property at 213 South River Road.
