1. Know before you go. The General Election is today, so make sure you're well read and informed on the candidates and issues that matter to you, the residents of Bedford. Check out our exclusive Bedford Election Guide and then head to the polls and make an educated decision.

2. Get results here first. Bedford polls close at 7 p.m. Once the results begin to trickle in, check back with Bedford Patch for results for the , and .

3. BCTV election night live broadcast from BHS. BCTV will be broadcasting live election updates from Bedford High School on today beginning at 7 p.m..  The show will be hosted by Dianne Bzik and Dave Danielson.  Tune in to Channel 16 or go to the BCTV website at www.bedfordtv.com for live streaming by clicking on “Channel 16”.   Bzik and Danielson will have numerous guests that will discuss election results and their impact on Bedford. 4. The weatherman says ... According to Weather.com, Bedford residents may want to grab that extra layer prior to heading to the polls. The forecasted high today is a cool 43 degrees with partly cloudy skies and a 10-percent chance of rain.

5. Local non-profit collecting hygiene kits for Sandy victims. In the past decade, the Bedford family foundation, Color My World has donated over $33,000 in goods to families affected by the Indonesian Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, Kate Earthquakes in Haiti, China, Chile and aid for Africa.  Color My World has also distributed over $2,000 locally to projects and families in need in New Hampshire supporting Angie's Shelter and New Horizons in Manchester. Currently the foundation is shipping hygiene kits to help people affected by Sandy.  Color My World is accepting part or complete Hygiene Kits consisting of:

  • 4 Toothbrushes
  • 2 Bar of Soap
  • 2 Hand Towel
  • 1 Tube of Toothpaste
  • 2 Combs
  • Packed in a 1 gallon zip lock bag

The organization is in major need of toothbrushes and toothpaste.

The project will run until November 1-15, 2012.  Drop off locations include the Bedford Library, YMCA Goffstown, YMCA Manchester, Trinity High School, Bedford Positively at the Bullock Agency, 11 Meetinghouse Road in Bedford (a box will be placed outdoors for “drive-by drop-off” Saturday, Nov. 3 through Nov. 15), Girl Scouts of America Green and White Mountains.  If you see the Model T with Bedford Positively signs and want to drop something there, you are more than welcome to do that as well.
