In Bedford, Accomplished Journalist To Speak About Addiction

"Accomplished, Award-Winning... And Addicted" event at Bedford library will present journalist speaking about lifetime addiction battle.

BEDFORD, NH — He was "Accomplished, Award-Winning... and Addicted." Such is the name of BeBOLD's speaker event coming to Bedford on Monday, Sept. 23, as highly successful journalist and Manchester native Jeffrey Jolton tells his story about his lifetime battle with addiction and its destructive layers. Jolton will tell his compelling story and answer questions at the Bedford Public Library on Sept. 23, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Jolton is a four-time Emmy and Peabody Award winning journalist who spent 30 years producing local and network television news, and international documentaries for ABC News, CBS News and CNN. He began his career with WMUR-TV, first as an intern and then as a producer before helping launch New England Cable News. He had graduated as Alumni Scholar of New York University.

And for the majority of his career and life, Jolton was battling addiction. He first began using marijuana, and then his substance abuse escalated to using crystal methamphetamine, feeling powerless as he watched it destroy every aspect of his life, according to BeBOLD, an acronym for Bedford — Building Our Lives Together Drug-free.
