A Bedford man was arrested on Friday night after state police clocked him driving 115 mph on Interstate 93.
Around 8:34 p.m., Trooper Juan Infante was on patrol, traveling in the left lane on I-93 north in Manchester, when he observed a black 2006 Ford Crown Victoria driving at a high rate of speed. He clocked the vehicle at 115 mph in a posted 55 mph speed zone. The vehicle came up behind the trooper's cruiser and passed him on the right.
Once the vehicle was in front of the cruiser, Trooper Infante clocked the vehicle at 110 mph as it changed lanes. The trooper then observed the vehicle as it encountered slower traffic and had to brake aggressively to avoid a collision with other vehicles traveling with the normal flow of traffic. Trooper Infante immediately stopped the vehicle.
The driver, Michael A. MgRdichian Jr., 31, of Bedford, was arrested for reckless operation and taken to state police Troop B barracks in Bedford. He was processed and released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Manchester District Court on Feb. 10 at 8 a.m.
