Bedford Man Seriously Injured When Snowmobile Hits Tree In Rumney

RUMNEY, NH — New Hampshire Fish and Game Department was notified of a snowmobile crash that occurred in Rumney on the Corridor 11 snowmobile trail on Saturday.

Conservation Officers said Frederick Pihl Jr., 61, of Bedford, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries when he unintentionally departed the trail on a curve and struck a tree.

Pihl was riding with a group of friends, who assisted him after the crash along with other passing snowmobilers.

Emergency services personnel from the Rumney Fire Department and the Hebron Fire Department responded to the crash as well as Conservation Officers with the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

Pihl was loaded onto a tracked utility terrain vehicle with the Hebron Fire Department and taken to a waiting Rumney Fire Department Ambulance. He was then taken via ambulance to Speare Memorial Hospital for additional evaluation and treatment.
