Bedford Police Arrest Man In Swamp After Pursuit Ends
Bedford police were in pursuit of a man wanted on several warrants when he was accused of ditching a car and running into the woods.
BEDFORD, NH — At approximately 2 p.m., Bedford police attempted to stop a vehicle which failed to stop. The vehicle sped away from police and they discontinued the pursuit — but kept the vehicle in sight. The vehicle crossed over the lawn of an Irving gas station and stopped at a dead end.
The driver then exited the vehicle and fled into the woods.

A perimeter was set up by Bedford police with the assistance of several surrounding police agencies and New Hampshire State Police. A K-9 was requested to the scene and Manchester police responded with their drone to assist.
The man was described as someone who had multiple felony warrants and was believed to be dangerous, according to police. Officers continued to search for hours when the male was located in a swamp.

Bedford firefighters was summoned to the scene with a boat to assist. BPD and BFD reached the man in the swamp and he was taken into custody and brought to shore at 645 p.m.
The man suffering from cold exposure was transported to CMC for medical treatment and was in the custody of BPD.
The suspect's name has not been released at this time and we are awaiting follow up from the public relations agency that handles Bedford police press information.
An alert had been sent this afternoon advising residents of increased police presence area of White Ave, Cote Lane and wooded area along the power lines.
