- A shoutout to Bedford senior Zainab B. who was named the New Hampshire Youth of the Year by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. This honor recognizes young people who demonstrate "leadership, service, academic excellence, and dedication to living a healthy lifestyle." As Teen Ambassador of the Year, Zainab will receive a college scholarship from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and will be part of the regional Youth of the Year event. (Manchester Ink Link)
- A 77-year-old man was accidentally shot in neighboring Goffstown Sunday hunting turkeys with a friend. The hunter and his friend walked out of the woods just after the shooting incident at 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning. The man drove himself to Catholic Medical Center where he was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Goffstown Police helped conservation officers investigate the shooting. - It's time to update your personal information with the Town of Bedford. The Supervisors of the Checklist will hold a meeting on Tuesday, July 11 from 3 to 3:30 p.m. to approve "additions, deletions, changes of name and address, and other updates to the Checklist." The Checklist is used to determine if applicants are legally qualified to vote in the Town of Bedford elections. (Bedford Patch)
- Get ready for the Kids' 2023 Summer Reading Challenge with the Beanstack app. If this is your first time using Beanstack, download the app (look for the cute blue bird). then click "Register an Individual or a Family." The 2023 Kids' Summer Reading Challenge will be from Monday, June 19 to Friday, Aug. 4. Participants l earn a virtual raffle ticket for every hour of summer reading during the challenge.
