- Pumpkin patches near Bedford offer more than pumpkins. As October days get cooler, you can find a few more pumpkins at your nearby pumpkin patch. Many farms offer more than pumpkins. If you are adventurous, you can find your way out of a corn maze, hop on a free hayride, or taste local apple cider. The best farms near Bedford in 2021 are in Goffstown, Milford, and Candia. - The Powered by Women conference featuring five successful women leaders from different backgrounds, careers, and perspectives will give a 10-minute talk about their personal and professional experiences followed by a discussion. The fourth-annual Powered by Women conference showcases the persistence, drive, and conviction of successful women leaders to empower women to become leaders in the Granite State. The presenters include Dr. Larissa Ruiz Baía, president of Lakes Region Community College, and Sharron McCarthy, CEO, Girls Inc. of New Hampshire, among others. The NH Business Review event will be held in Bedford at the Manchester Country Club on Thursday, Oct. 28, from 8-11 a.m. You can find out more and buy tickets for the event here: (N.H. - Nor’easter Impact, Clearing Skies For Trick-Or-Treating: The automated call came in Tuesday from Eversource to prepare for possible outages in the Bedford area for a Nor'easter that was headed for New Hampshire Wednesday. New Hampshire experienced sudden downpours with strong wind gusts, and some places in Massachusetts had downed trees and power outages, but New Hampshire was spared the full force of the storm. For Halloween weekend, according to WMUR Storm watch 9, Thursday and Friday will be dry, with highs in the 50s, with rain Friday night into Saturday, but on Halloween (Sunday) any lingering morning showers and clouds "should give way to partial clearing" in time for trick-or-treating. Temperatures will be in the 50s in the afternoon, dropping to the 40s during the evening. You can find out more here: (WMUR)
