Body Of A Man Discovered In The Piscataquog River In Manchester

Manchester Police, Fire, AMR, and New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol are investigating the death. The identity has not been released.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police, firefighters, and AMR responded to Second Street in the area of the Piscataquog River for a report of a body in the water Thursday morning.

The person, who was below the bridge area near Bass Island Park, was confirmed deceased. Manchester firefighters deployed a boat to assist in bringing the body to the shore. The team removed a man from the river who was not wearing clothing and appeared to have been in the water for an extended time.

New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol responded to the scene and assisted Manchester police, who were at the scene.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner came to the scene, and the man was transported from the scene by a local funeral home. An autopsy will be performed in Concord by a medical examiner.

At this time, the subject's identity is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin.
