Bulldogs Take Tourney Title

The Bedford High School wrestling team traveled to Weare on Saturday, Jan. 6 for the John Stark Invitational Dual Meet Tournament.

There, the Bulldogs earned three victories to capture first place.

BHS began with a convincing 60-6 victory against Newport before edging North Andover (Mass.), 38-28.

Then, in the championship finale, the Bulldogs took down the host Generals, 42-32.

Individually, Jake Valeri, Josh Belz, Chris Conery, Robert Bernard and Robert Lamy were all undefeated on the day, each earning four victories.

Other standout performances were turned in by Sam Kollmorgan and Matt Houston who each finished the tourney with a 3-1 record.

Also contributing with victories were Jake Hall, Ben Dow, Colin Perras, Justin Mello, Ben Miller, Ryan Belz and Cam Lavoie.

BHS returns home on Wednesday, Jan. 9, for a dual meet with Milford, and then take on Conval a week later, on Jan. 16.
