- The embattle Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics will close its Merrimack plant, the company said in an announcement to employees Wednesday (Jeffrey Hastings). The decision came “after careful consideration" of the company’s mission. Saint Gobain thanked employees, saying it would support them during their transition. The company said it will continue PFAS remediation for contamination in Merrimack, Amherst, Bedford, Hudson, Litchfield, and Londonderry. The decision was welcomed by Rep. Wendy Thomas (D - Merrimack) who said, “We have refused to stay silent as we watched our friends and neighbors become sick and struggle to pay the bills for cancer treatment, well testing, filtered water, and even veterinary care.” (Bedford Patch)
