First-Annual Bedford Senior Safety Forum Today

Here are five things you should know today in Bedford.

1. Bedford Senior Talk. The Bedford Police Department invites all Bedford’s senior citizens to the first-annual Bedford Police Senior Talk from 2-4 p.m. today at the Bedford Safety Complex at 55 Constitution Drive. Those attending will be provided with valuable information to help avoid being the victim of fraud, identity theft, and other crimes. For more information, click here.

3. Lights out. According to the Bedford Town website, box culvert construction is scheduled to occur on Thursday, Oct. 17 on Joppa Hill Road at McQuade Brook, resulting in an electrical service interruption on a portion of the street.  From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., an electrical outage is scheduled to occur between house numbers 321, 324 and 327.
4. The weatherman says ... This week's weather should be pretty decent, with a chance of rain around mid-week. Here's the full Bedford forecast:

  • Thursday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 66. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
  • Thursday night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
  • Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 66.
