- Four Granite Staters died of COVID-19 this week as cases continue to rise in the state, even though hospitalizations have started to decline, health officials said on Wednesday. New Hampshire epidemiologist, Dr. Benjamin Chan, said there is substantial transmission in all of the counties in New Hampshire, adding that 25.9 percent of new cases are in children under 18. (WMUR)
- After sitting vacant for more than two years, the former Bedford Walmart store may be the home of a new manufacturing facility. Neighbors had expressed concerns about truck traffic and noise at the Bedford planning meeting. Jason Lopez, of Keach Nordstrom Associates, said that the interested tenant plans to use the facility for light manufacturing, and not for "heavy industrial uses.” Walmart closed its doors in June 2019 after not being able to reach lease terms with the landlord. - A Nashua woman will make history as part of the first all civilian crew to head into space. Dr. Sian Proctor, who was born in Nashua, was propelled into orbit with four other non-astronaut crew members on Wednesday. They trained for four months to prepare for the space launch, which is expected to last for three days. (WMUR)
