  1. Spring has arrived, and it's time for the Bedford Garden Club Plant Sale! Stop by the Bedford Village Common Band Stand on Saturday, May 20, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The annual Bedford Garden Club Plant Sale will feature hundreds of sun and shade plants by Garden Club members and commercial growers. A herbalist will be on hand, and you will find local honey, garden-related art, and other items for sale. Funds from the Garden Club Plant Sale will benefit the Club's educational programs, help maintain the Garden Club’s 10 Bedford community gardens (yes, 10!) and more.   2. A Bedford company and inventor have been awarded patents. XDI Holdings, LLC of Bedford was assigned a patent for "Dirty water and exhaust constituent free, direct steam generation, convaporator system, apparatus and method" (initially filed Feb. 28, 2017). And BAE Systems of Nashua was assigned a patent for "Signal correlation estimator and detector" (initially filed Jan. 26, 2022). The BAE Systems patent was developed by three inventors: Brandt J. Lomen of Bedford, Steven R. Grimes of Brookline and Matthew Anderson of Mont Vernon. Congratulations! (Concord Monitor)
