MANCHESTER, NH — It took several police officers and a Taser to handcuff a man who refused to show his identification to Manchester police and threatened officers on Tuesday. Dennis Delisle, 56, was charged with resisting arrest, criminal threatening and obstructing government administration. He is due for arraignment next month.

Police say that around 5:10 p.m. Delisle was about to get a citation for drinking a beer in an alleyway off Elm Street, when he refused to provide his ID and swore at the officer. He got up and tried to walk past the officer, and when she tried to hold him back he began to posture as if he was about to fight, according to Manchester police.

Another officer arrived, and Delisle struggled and tried to hit one of them as they tried to handcuff him, police say. When they brought him to the ground, he pushed so hard that handcuffs went flying into the alleyway, according to police. After arrival of another officer and a police dog, Delisle became more calm and was handcuffed.

At the Manchester police headquarters, Delisle was being fingerprinted when he tried to strike an officer and again began to struggle, police say. When police tried to handcuff him again, he resisted to the point that police deployed a Taser. Four officers then combined efforts and placed him in handcuffs.

Delisle is scheduled for arraignment at Manchester District Court on July 16.
