Here are the top stories today in Bedford:
- A driver will face charges after leading police on a high-speed chase through Bedford. Police said an officer tried to pull over a speeding black Subaru Legacy on the Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack Friday at 1:35 a.m., but "the vehicle kept going, hitting 72 m.p.h." Police called off the chase, but later found the vehicle at an apartment complex in Manchester. Police officials said they know the identity of the driver, but have not yet made an arrest. (WMUR Manchester)
- Don't text and drive. April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and the Bedford Police Department wants Bedford residents to know that texting "is one of the most dangerous forms of distracted driving." Drivers who text are a threat to themselves, their passengers and are a "danger to everyone else on the road," the BPD added. Drive safely! (Bedford Police Department via Facebook)
- Eight "adorable" baby bunnies were part of the Spring Photos Event at the Animal Rescue League. If you were part of the event, you had a chance to meet them! Some of the bunnies from the litter were neutered this week and will be ready to go home early next week. Find out more here: (The Animal Rescue League via Facebook)
