Check Out Bedford's New State-of-the-Art Assisted Living Community

In late October, Benchmark Senior Living opened its newest and most advanced senior assisted-living community in Bedford.

Bedford Falls, aptly named after the famed community in "It's a Wonderful Life," currently houses nearly 50 residents and has a capacity for roughly double that number. It joins a family of more than 40 communities in New England, including four in New Hampshire.

The state-of-the-art facility takes pride in not only being modern and innovative, but being green.

The community was recently granted LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for Homes Platinum, the highest level of certification for green living standards. From the landscaping outside to the the use of high-efficiency lighting, energy and water systems, evidence of the Bedford Falls' commitment can be found throughout the building.

With residents' health in mind, low VOC paints, adhesives and sealants were used and the carpeting and flooring throughout are low-chemical emission certified.
