Kayak On The Rock In Merrimack River Bring Bedford And Manchester Fire
An empty kayak just south of the I-293 overpass brought firefighters, boats, and personnel to look for the rower, but no one was located.
BEDFORD, NH — On Sunday, Bedford Fire dispatch was notified of a kayak stuck on rocks in the Merrimack River just south of the Interstate 293 overpass.
Bedford Fire responded to the area just before 9 a.m. and requested Manchester respond with fire personnel, boats, and an AMR ambulance.
Bedford arrived and could see the kayak but did not see any people around the kayak. A boat was launched with Bedford firefighters, and Manchester launched boats.

Bedford secured the kayak and brought it back to the shore, where it was inspected. Based on several different things that firefighters investigated, it appears to have been an abandoned kayak that had floated down the river.
