Shots Fired, Man Accused Of 'Attempt To Commit Murder'

Manchester Police say several shots fired, striking a house during a neighbor dispute

MANCHESTER, NH - On Saturday, August 8, 2020, Manchester Police were called to Pine St near Willow St. at approximately 9:54 pm for a report of a fight between neighbors that resulted in gunshots being fired by one of the involved parties.

MPD Sgt Thomas Dubois said while responding to a call, officers developed information that a man was involved in an argument between the neighbors was retrieving a gun from his residence.

Sgt Dubois said "James Ferguson, 49 is accused of retrieving a firearm from his apartment and subsequently firing off several rounds outside of the building."

The MPD investigation determined that multiple rounds struck the residence, but it does not appear that anyone was injured. Ferguson was taken into custody without incident.

MPD Spokesperson Heather Hamel said "Ferguson was charged with: Attempt to commit murder, falsifying physical evidence, criminal threatening and simple assault."
