Man Accused Of Shooting Another Man In The Leg In Manchester

Update: Police charge a man with criminal threatening with a knife after an argument that resulted in him being shot.

MANCHESTER, NH — On July 16, at 4:20 p.m., Manchester police, firefighters, and AMR responded to Pine Street for a report of a person with a gunshot wound, and a gunshot heard in the area.

According to MPD Spokesperson Heather Hamel, “Responding officers learned that 2 people had been involved in an altercation in an apartment. One man was shot in the leg and transported to a local hospital.”

A MPD Officer removed a dog from the apartment building and secured the dog in the cruiser.

Update: Hamel said Friday: "Around 4:20 p.m., 2 roommates got into an altercation. 39 year-old Peter Darrigo threatened his roommate with a knife. Fearing for his safety, the man got his gun and shot Darrigo in the leg. Afterward, he called 911."

Police charged Darrigo with criminal threatening. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and has yet to have his booking photo taken, Hamel said.
