Elderly Man Dies From Injuries Sustained In Manchester Hit And Run Crash: Follow-Up

A 71-year-old man died after police say a car struck him on his bicycle and fatally injured him at Central and Union streets on July 3.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Police say a 71-year-old man has died from injuries after being struck by a Nissan Rogue that fled the scene at Central and Union streets Wednesday.

Manchester Fire and AMR were dispatched to a report about a motor vehicle that struck a bicycle at about 3:45 p.m. On arrival, they found the man who was riding the bike with severe head injuries and activated a trauma alert at the Elliot Hospital, where he later succumbed to injuries from the accident.

Union Street and several other streets in the area were closed while Manchester police investigated the accident. Witnesses told police they had seen a black or dark-colored vehicle collide with the bicycle in the intersection. It was reported that the car looked like a black Nissan Rogue with possible veteran’s plates.

The vehicle did not stop and continued to drive east on Central St.
