Manchester Firefighters Battle 2-Alarm Fire In 6-Bay Garage
Watch as crews successfully protected adjacent structures from the Maple Street fire. Mutual aid was provided by several cities and towns
Manchester, NH — Manchester Fire received multiple calls for a garage fire at 337 Maple St. Friday.
Firefighters arrived at 3:24 p.m. moments after being dispatched and reported smoke showing from a 6-bay garage that was attached to a 2.5-story house.
A second alarm was requested, bringing additional apparatus to the scene. The Bedford Fire tower truck was dispatched to the scene, and other mutual aid from surrounding towns and cities covered the Manchester fire stations.

Crews stretched hose lines, while other firefighters started cutting open overhead garage doors to gain access to the fire. Two bays of the five-car garage had an active fire, and the structure and contents were burning.
All bays of the garage had cars, a motorcycle, and multiple items stored in each section. Crews put ladders up to access the roof, and ladder trucks were set up to protect the attached structure and a structure adjacent to the burning garage.

The fire spread into the walls of a 2-story garage and firefighters used saws to access the fire in the walls.
The fire was controlled within 30 minutes, and firefighters remained at the scene for an extended time removing the contents and extinguishing hot spots.
Manchester Fire Marshals are investigating the fire, and at this time, the cause is unknown. No firefighters or civilians were injured.
Multiple vehicles and contents of the garage had fire and smoke damage.
Several streets around the fire were closed by Manchester police to allow hoses across the streets and for apparatus to access the fire building.
