Manchester Man Still Missing After Falling In River
Manchester firefighters, NH Fish & Game, and Marine Patrol have searched for a man who was swept into the Merrimack River on April 2.

MANCHESTER, NH — After one week of searching the Merrimack River the man who is presumed drowned has not been located. On April 2, a man described as an adult male wearing a maroon sweater went into the Merrimack river just south of the Granite Street Bridge in Manchester. Manchester firefighters and NH Marine Patrol searched the evening of the incident and continued into the early morning hours.
According to NH Fish and Game Colonel Kevin Jordan they deployed divers and boats to search the river, and were joined by NH Marine Patrol for the days after. He described the work they are doing as a recovery mission and the man is presumed drown.
Colonel Jordan and members of his department have been in communication with the victims mother. Saturday she came to the scene and met with the searchers and thanked them for their efforts.

The man has not officially been identified by authorities but many family and friends continue to hope that he is found to bring closure.
Several people familiar with the victim who were on scene the night of the incident expressed concern on the lack of follow up on information provided to the Manchester Police. According to the witnesses there are varying stories of how the man ended up in the river.

NH Fish & Game will continue to search the river banks but at this time will not be deploying boats or divers unless new information is developed.
