Manchester Woman Accused Of Killing Man On Silver Street Tuesday Night
UPDATE: Alicia Castagnino, 24, of Manchester, is accused of killing Brennan Pelio, age 27, who died of a single gunshot wound to the head.

MANCHESTER, NH — The NH Attorney General’s Office and Manchester Police are investigating the death of a person who died from an incident involving a shooting.
Manchester Police, Fire, and AMR ambulance were dispatched to 470 Silver St. Tuesday at about 10:20 p.m. for a report of a shooting and a person with a gunshot wound. The victim, a man, was pronounced deceased at the scene, and an investigation began. The large building comprises several condominium units; there was initially a heavy police presence.
Alicia Castagnino, 24, of Manchester, was arrested this morning for knowingly causing the death of the victim by shooting them and, alternatively, for recklessly causing the death of the victim under the circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life, according to Manchester police.

Wednesday morning, detectives were at the scene and could be seen taking photographs and bringing evidence collection containers into the building. According to the Manchester Police call log, the incident took place on the fourth floor of the building.
Castagnino was scheduled to be arraigned at the 9th Circuit Court – District Division in Manchester today, but it has been rescheduled until Friday morning. Castagnino is being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections on preventative detention pending arraignment.

NH AG Director of Communications Michael S. Garrity said the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
Attorney General John M. Formella and Manchester Police Chief Peter A. Marr announce that an autopsy was completed today on the body of Brennan Pelio, age 27, of Manchester, New Hampshire.
Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Mitchell Weinberg conducted the autopsy. Dr. Weinberg determined that Brennan Pelio’s cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the head, and his manner of death was homicide.
This incident is only the second homicide this year in Manchester; in 2023, there were eight homicides, which was higher than the 10-year average.
