Manchester Woman Arrested After Jumping In Front of Moving Cars

A local woman was arrested after jumping in front of moving vehicles on Union Street yesterday.

MANCHESTER, N.H. - A local woman was arrested after jumping in front of moving vehicles on Union Street yesterday.

According to the Manchester Police, Rosene Katanga, 19 of Manchester, New Hampshire was charged with resisting arrest/detention.

Police responded to the area just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday for a report of a person who was running in front of moving cars in the area of Union Street and Manchester Street.

On arrival, police spoke with a witness who said the female darted into Pine Street while he was driving, causing him to swerve. The 39-year-old male said he watched the female jump in front of moving vehicles on three more occasions as he waited for police to arrive.

Police said an officer briefly spoke with the Katanga before she walked away from him. The officer followed her and attempted to gather basic information as he investigated the incident.

When she refused to cooperate and once again tried to walk away from the officer, she was taken into custody.

Katanga was released on $500 personal recognizance bail and scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on June 12.
