MPD Investigating Sunday Shooting And Three Other Shootings

Shootings on Lowell St, Pine St, Somerville St, and Country Club Drive under investigation.

MANCHESTER, NH - Manchester Police are investigating multiple shootings including one that allegedly involved males shooting at each other outside the Red Arrow Diner.

MPD Spokesperson Heather Hamel said "On August 8, 2020 at approximately 1:30 am, Manchester Police responded to Lowell St for a report of multiple gunshots in the area of the Red Arrow Diner. Witnesses told officers that they were leaving the diner and saw a group of males yelling. The males reportedly displayed handguns and began shooting at each other. The males then ran away."

MPD said witnesses were only able to give vague descriptions of two of the males. Both were black with dreadlocks, one had a white t-shirt and jeans, the other a red polo shirt.

No one appeared to have been injured, however numerous shell casings were located in the diner’s parking lot and surrounding area. Buba Noodle a restaurant located across the street from the Red Arrow was struck by the gunfire, and several vehicles were damaged in the incident.

On August 9, 2020 MPD responded to two shooting incidents, one on Pine Street which led to an arrest and one on Somerville Street.

On August 10, 2020 at 12:25 am MPD responded to Country Club Drive for a weapons call.

MPD Spokesperson Heather Hamel said "The caller told police he had fired a single gunshot at a vehicle after one of the passengers displayed a gun. The caller, identified as Yani Stancioff, 24 of Manchester told officers he had had a party at his house and a few people he did not know had shown up. Stancioff asked them to leave and an argument ensued."

MPD says "The group eventually left. Stancioff, believing that they had stolen some of his belongings, followed them in his own car and confronted them at an intersection. There was another argument. Stancioff reported that a passenger pulled up his shirt and reveal a gun in his waistband. Stancioff then fired a gunshot at the vehicle as it drove away."

Stancioff was charged with Reckless Conduct for chasing down the car and firing a shot.
