MPD Officer Names Released From Shooting
Suspect wanted in connection with a fire started with explosives was shot and killed by Manchester police

MANCHESTER, NH -Concord, NH – Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald releases the names of the Manchester police officers involved in the incident that took place on April 5, 2020, on Lake Shore Road in Manchester, New Hampshire.
The Manchester police officers who discharged their firearms during the incident were Sergeant Mathew Barter (approximately 14 years as a police officer) and Officer Erik Slocum (approximately 7 years as a police officer).
The exact circumstances surrounding this incident remain under active investigation. A report regarding whether the use of force was justified will be released once the investigation is completed.
